About the Creative Director:

Born and raised in Switzerland, Janja (Yanya) Watson always knew she wanted to do something creative in life. She started selling her first paintings for 10 cents to her parents customers at the age of 6. In school, she attended every drawing class there was and when time came, she took an internship in each graphic design and jewelry making.

Due to her fascination of creating a piece of jewelry from scratch, she decided to get a degree as a master bench jeweler in 1990. A gemology degree soon followed. The casting and mold‐making classes further extended her knowledge of fabricating custom design jewelry. In 2000 she started working as a master jeweler for S. Harris Design. She was designing and fabricating the collection sold at Neiman Marcus for 4 years.

Janja first got introduced to web design when she built her own web site in 2001 for her jewelry business Design by Janja. The business was part‐time and she mostly sold her jewelry in galleries and online.

2004‐2008 Janja worked as a master jeweler and assistant manager in a family owned jewelry store. During that time, she was in charge of designing print advertisement, jewelry photography and web site maintenance as well as the management of the store.

The slow economy and the love for creation motivated her to go back to school for a web and graphic design degree. Janja won a Life scholarship and several school intern graphic design competitions.

Today, Janja is running her own graphic and web design company Jewel Web & Design and specializes in logo and print design as well as css web sites and wordpress systems.
